A third 12" from the pussies in their new tech-trance incarnation, this time on the German Leviathan label. This is the most technoey and minimalistic of the three, and I liked the Space Walk 12" better. Very hard sounds, massive dark atmosphere, but it's less together than their previous techno-trance stuff.
Extended Memory on the A side has a gigantic kick, very powerful and raw, maybe even too much- it almost swallows the music in the beginning. Nice groove build up and a lot of scratchy computer messages from outer space flying all around. The track takes its turns and twists, building up and breaking down with nice layering of sounds out of the deep chasms of your mind, and always adding the extra flavor.
The B-Side is just too much for me, it's taking it to the extreme- very minimal, very repetitive and this track is just not interesting enough, nothing really happens here, brain-wise, emotion-wise and sound-wise. |
