Power Source are among the top in the Israeli trance scene since 1994. The group consists of: Nati Beat, who was one of the first trance DJs in Tel Aviv clubs, coming from a background of New Beat & Acid House; Shahaf Schwarzman, that comes from a classical music keyboard background, and also worked with California Sunshine on Imperia; A Former member of the group that still appears on some of their tracks is Nati Mishali, that has been an industrial and trance musician since the late 80's, and was one of the pioneers of the scene working with other known trance artists as Edi Mis & Har-el Prusski.
Power Source released their first tracks as an act on Melodia Records' (then BMI) Trance Mix 4. Calling and Everest instantly became very popular. On 1996, they released two 12"s on Transient (Granada) and Matsuri (Goaway) and both tracks have become hits outside Israel and have been on the playlist of the best DJs as Paul Oakenfold , Danny Rampkling and Mark Alan. Both tracks and others also appeared on a lot of compilations released around the world in different countries (among them: Goa Vibes 3, A Taste of Trust in Trance, Distance to Goa 3, Goa-Head 1, Destination Goa 2, Pulse 2, A Taste of Transient, Infinity Hz, The Mind of Goa, Sun Trip 2). At the same time, the guys started playing live shows on a lot of parties around Israel.
Their debut album, Cosmic Waves, opens 1999 with a great fresh sound. It is interesting to note that Power Source have been working also on Dance and House stuff and had quite a lot of stuff released in these directions. |
