Is Jenia Shteingard. He arrived in Israel from Saint Petersburg, Russia. Since he remembers himself he listened to music- he started with Punk, Industrial and then moved to electronic music. He started to make music here in Israel and tried all sorts of stuff, but it never got anywhere. In 1995 when he heard The Prodigy and the Goa Vibes compilations he started to wonder about how this music is being made, and wanted to make music. He started by working on a friend's computer, then bought a groove-box. He kept moving from style to style till he got to what he's doing these days. The name Platform was around for few years, and when he got he's style figured it just fitted in.
He's music was always monotonic, he likes it hard, strong and monotonic, because this way it is more clear- it penetrates better.
He defines he's style as heavy monotonic and technoidic and wants to keep developing from here.
It's also what he likes to listen to, but he likes different things in different kinds of music and in different artists, that why he likes to make music himself- so he can put it all together himself.
Till now he worked only with Midi, but not long ago when he played in Japan he got himself a G4, so now there are more opportunities open.
He took part in compiling Analog Reflections vol. 3 for Agitato. He also released so far: Eruption (Analog Reflections vol. 2), Unfreeze (Analog Reflections vol. 3), Speed Up (Analog Reflections vol. 3), Interport (Mixture),Drilling Mechanism (Side Effect), Goods Train & Ice Breaker (Red Square). He also released the Platform 12" with Hadshot Haheizar in May 2002. |
